A notice is attached to the fence beside the Hot Tub outlining the main safety guidelines for safe usage. Please read.
The Hot Tub can be a pleasurable and relaxing experience, however, there are strict rules and guidelines that must be adhered to when using it to ensure your enjoyment and safety. The lead guest is responsible for making sure that all members of their party, and their guests, are aware of, and strictly adhere to, the following health and safety guidelines.
Please treat the Hot Tub as it was your own as maintenance is very expensive.
- we visit each day to check the water balance and quality. Water balance/chemicals will be adjusted as necessary and results recorded. This procedure is a safety requirement for hot tubs in holiday lodges.
- It is very important that the Hot Tub is NEVER switched off at the mains switch (even if you are not using it).
- Always shower before using because perfumes, hair products and fake tan can contaminate the water/tub and you may be charged if a clean and refill is required.
- Do not use any glass wear or crockery in the Hot Tub. If glassware is broken the hot tub must be drained, cleaned and re-filled, for which there will be a charge. Plastic glasses are provided for you.
- Please report any illnesses following Hot Tub usage to the owners immediately. This is extremely important if pneumonia-like symptoms are experienced
- Risk to Children – Children must not use the Hot Tub without an adult present.
- No-one should be left alone in the Hot Tub
- Children cannot regulate their body temperature, so consider turning the temperature down.
- Pregnant women, persons suffering from obesity, heart disease, low or high blood pressure, circulatory problems, or diabetes should consult a doctor before using the Hot Tub.
- Prolonged immersion in hot water can result in hyperthermia – a dangerous condition that occurs when the internal body temperature exceeds 37 degrees centigrade. Symptoms include, unawareness of impending hazards, failure to perceive heat, failure to recognise the need to exit the Hot Tub, unconsciousness resulting in a danger of drowning.
- Test the water with your hand before entering the Hot Tub to make sure it is comfortable.
- Use the cover clips when the Hot Tub is not in use (whether full or empty).
- Do not drag the vinyl cover using the cover straps, always use the handles and cover-lifter.
- Do not allow any pets in the Hot Tub.
- Do not use detergent or soaps of any kind in the Hot Tub.
- Any damage to the cover or Hot Tub will be charged for.
- Remind everyone that wet surfaces can be very slippery. Make sure everyone takes care entering and leaving the Hot Tub.
- Do not remove any fittings eg located in the filter compartment.
- Do not jump into the hot tub.
- People with infectious diseases should not use the Hot Tub; this includes fungal infections.
- Smoking is not permitted while in the Hot Tub, this includes e-cigarettes.
- Keep all loose articles of clothing or hanging jewellery away from jets and other moving components. Keep long hair tied up.
- Do not stand on the Hot Tub cover.
- Do not use the Hot Tub immediately after strenuous exercise.
- Failure to maintain a clean pool may result in the need to drain down, sanitise, and re-fill the Hot Tub. Guests should be aware that failure to maintain a clean pool could result in a deduction from their deposit to pay for the drain down and cleaning of the Hot Tub. If we do need to refill the hot tub then it takes approximately 24 hours to return the tub to a comfortable temperature.
We welcome well behaved dogs to the pods. Be aware that there are a number of other animals – dogs, cats, chickens – who wander freely around the farm. There are also often sheep or cows in nearby fields.
- Please keep your dog under control at all times Even the best behaved dog will chase a chicken if they have never seen one before.
- Be considerate of other pod guests who may not appreciate dogs running loose in the pods area. A tie loop is attached to the deck if you need to secure your dog.
- If you want to allow your dog to run off-lead then the back field is available (follow the woods, through the gate and into the large field with the burn/river). The fencing is not 100% secure but we have managed to contain Rosie for 3 years.
- Please clean up after your dog. You will find dog poo bags in the cupboard. Bags can be disposed of in the black wheelie bin at the entrance.
- Inside, dogs should be kept off of sofa and bedding. Extra cleaning costs may be applied if bedding is stained.
If you have any issues or questions contact us at the main house (second green door at the top of the driveway). If we do not answer please call or message Barbara on 07932 620232.
